Can you tell me why in the 21st century we - a so called modern civilization – are reverting to the use of fire and wood to create our energy?
Well most fittingly for a 21st century person the first reason is Money. Cold hard cash has always been a motivator of the modern man (and woman). Now when I say cash I mean both the cost of buying different fuels but also the incentives to use certain fuels. Next there is the environment to consider. Now this all goes far beyond simple Carbon footprints and greenhouse gasses. There are also the ecological costs in finding fossil fuels such as coal mining, gas/oil mining wells and storehouses/gasometers to consider. Then there’s the destruction of vast swathes of land to achieve the retrieval of necessary fuels, the transportation of fossil fuels most commonly across continents (Gas from Norway, Turkey & Russia, Coal from Columbia, Russia & USA and finally Oil from Norway, Nigeria and again Russia!). When you add all these environmental costs up it shows just how severe and far-reaching the energy problem really is. So what if I said to you that you can install a biomass boiler that once built and delivered drastically reduces the cost of all of the above? Are you interested? How about I tell you that the government is going to pay you to install one of these boilers, will cover the cost of the fuel AND you will end up with some money in your pocket too!! Don’t laugh, these are all true statements which can be applied to you - if you are willing to trust in biomass and find a fairly priced boiler and fuel supplier. You will probably say to me that you’ve heard all about biomass and how there’s no longer money to be made. I would reply that “yes the payments have been reduced and that many people abused a good system that should have had a positive impact, but still now in the domestic situation you can make a return”. With a HKS Lazar boiler installed correctly into a suitable property, with you sourcing a quality fuel to use or possibly producing your own then there is a significant ROI (Return on Investment) to be made. The enticement to you comes in the form of the RHI (Renewable Heat Incentive) Payments scheme. On average these payments will cover the costs of the boiler, the installation and the fuel used for the following 7 years for which you will receive the RHI payments. Plus take into account the fuel cost savings you will be making against your current fossil fuel and the further duties proposed for using these fossil fuels intended for the future. Surely that’s incentive enough yes? The Biomass fuels you would use can be obtained from a local source. This means you will be helping in the fight to cut down on the human cost against our planet and the damages caused by finding, mining and transporting of fossil fuels. Also the fuels used for biomass are part of our current carbon cycle so will not be releasing excess carbon into the atmosphere unlike fossil fuels. Now taking all this into account you really should take a look at the information available on the rest of our site. Find out how we can help you help the environment and your bank balance too.
